Introduction Of Wheel Speed Sensor

The ABS system of modern cars is equipped with electromagnetic induction wheel speed sensors, which can be installed in the final drive or transmission, and are divided into two basic forms: active and passive. The wheel speed sensor is a sensor used to measure the speed of a car wheel. For modern cars, wheel speed information is indispensable. Automotive dynamic control systems (VDC), automotive electronic stability programs (ESP), anti-lock braking systems (ABS), automatic transmission control systems, etc. all require wheel speed information. Speed information. Therefore, the wheel speed sensor is one of the most critical sensors in modern cars.

The Working Principle Of Wheel Speed Sensor

The wheel speed sensor is usually used to measure the rotation speed of the wheel and consists of a set of electromagnets passing through a coil. When the protruding part of the gear teeth approaches the sensor magnet, the magnetic flux increases; when the protruding part of the gear teeth leaves the magnet, the magnetic flux decreases. The movement of the gear teeth causes the magnetic flux to change over time, and a proportional AC voltage is induced in the coil. This voltage is sent to the CPU, and the input signal is converted into a digital pulse signal by the subsequent processing circuit. The CPU measures the wheel speed according to the frequency change of the pulse signal.

The Role Of Wheel Speed Sensor

1. ABS anti-lock brake system, wheel speed sensor, mainly used to monitor the speed of each wheel, automatically adjust the brake pump pressure, avoid individual wheels from locking, and improve the safety of the car;

2. Wheel speed sensor is a sensor used to measure the speed of car wheels. For modern cars, wheel speed information is essential;

3. Automobile dynamic control system VDC, automobile electronic stability program ESP, anti-lock braking system ABS, automatic transmission control system, etc. all require wheel speed information. Therefore, the wheel speed sensor is one of the most critical sensors in modern cars.

What Are The Symptoms Of A Broken Car Wheel Speed Sensor?

1. The phenomenon of engine instability when idling;

2. When the vehicle starts or decelerates to a stop while driving, it stops or stalls instantly;

3. Decreased engine acceleration performance;

4. The vehicle speed display on the instrument is deviated;

5. The engine fault light is on.
